Dear Sponsor/Captain,

Welcome back! On behalf of the Officers and Executive Board, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your team to the 36th season of team competition in the QUAKER CITY ENGLISH DART LEAGUE, Inc. For your convenience the newly elected board positions are listed at the end of this letter. Thanks to all who came out and voted and we look forward to another successful darting campaign as we end the first decade of the new millennium.

                For the past several seasons weve been able to keep player dues at $30 by doing such things as eliminating mailed standings, but the league has not been immune to the recent economy. Total sponsoring establishments are down almost 20% (69) and total players are down (370 Tues 821 Thurs) almost 15% from just 2 years ago. As a result of fewer total establishments and players participating,  player dues for the season will be increased to $40 per player. Averaged over the course of 20 weeks, this is still a value at $2 per week.

 Last season the board and officers made a proactive effort to visit all of the Tuesday night darting teams, as there were no sitting board members who played on a Tuesday night team. We encouraged participation in the upcoming election and several names were added to the ballot. Unfortunately, there was not a strong enough voting turn out to elect any of the nominees. However, we will continue to look for opportunities to include those who showed an interest in participating as the need arises during the year to assist the board.

As we do each year, we have reviewed the By-Laws and Rules and Regulations. There are no new, significant changes but please read them carefully and encourage your team and sponsor to read them as well.  It has always been our goal to be fair in interpreting and enforcing the rules as written.this year will be no different. Standings will be available via PhillyDarts.com and will only be printed and handed out at the monthly captains meeting.

 A league meeting schedule will be included in the Captains team packet. We are returning to a single meeting per month format. REMEMBER meetings are for the membership while it seems that all we do is collect dues and score sheets, if there is no new business or announcements, we see no point in keeping people hanging around for no reason.

                This year we will try something new we will host an Early Registration Luck of Draw on Wednesday, Sept. 9th at Currans. League registrations will be taken from 6:30pm-8pm with the shoot following immediately after. There will be 2 additional  registration meetings.  They will be held on Saturday, September 12th from 1pm to 4pm and Sunday, September 13th from 12pm to 1:30 pm, both at Currans Irish Inn (Longshore & Old State Road).

FAILURE TO REGISTER A TEAM IS NOT THE LEAGUES FAULT AND PAST SPONSORSHIP OR MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT A GUARANTEE SPOT IN THE LEAGUE.

                 Please fill in all information requested on the registration form as completely as possible.  This includes the correct address and spelling of the sponsoring bar, player names, phone numbers, checking the box for the desired night of play and the division shot last season.  Incomplete forms will not be accepted.  Rosters will not be accepted without the appropriate registration sponsor and player monies.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THERE BE PLAYER ADD ONS AFTER YOUR TEAM IS PLACED IN YOUR DIVISION EXCEPT BY RULE UNDER ARTICLE XVI-4 & AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD.

**THIS MEANS NO MORE FREE DROP/ADD PERIOD DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THE HALF**

 REGISTRATION & SPONSOR FEES

 Sponsors note:  This is a combined fee.  It covers the league sponsorship fee and the cost on an official league dart board for each team registered.

Sponsor Fee:
1 Team = $165.00
2 Team = $270.00
3 Team = $375.00
4 Team = $500.00

     **Each additional team $125.00

For example:  a team with 8 players + sponsor = $485 for the year
PLAYER DUES

TOTAL PLAYER DUES FOR THE SEASON ARE NOW $40.00 PER PLAYER

TEAM MEMBER PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

1st payment - $20.00 per player due at registration
2nd payment - $20.00 per player due at pick-up

 

Example:  If you have 8 players on your roster, $160.00 is due @ registration.  Your balance is $160.00 for the season

 IF ALL PLAYER AND SPONSOR DUES ARE NOT PAID BY THE OCTOBER MEETING, YOUR TEAM WILL BE SUBJECT TO EXPULSION!!****NO EXCEPTIONS PER THE TREASURER****

ANY MONEY OWED FROM PREVIOUS YEARS MUST BE PAID BEFORE A PLAYER OR SPONSOR WILL BE ALLOWED BACK IN THE LEAGUE

 PICK- UP MEETING AND SEASON START DATES

 There will also be 2 pick-up meetings Saturday, September 19th from 3 pm to 5 pm and Sunday, September 20th from 11 am to 1pm, at Currans Irish Inn.
